Beautiful choice grade South African raspberries grown in the maritime terroir of the Hemel-en-Aarde valley are handpicked and pressed to release the stunningly aromatic pulp.
Carefully distilled in small batches to preserve and celebrate its delicate flavours. Each bottle of Himbeergeist contains close to 500 grams of raspberries. This authentic German styled Schnaps is enjoyed neat or with a quality cigar.
Description
Eau de Vie (French for “water of life”)
Is made from a fruit mash (other than grape origin) and is a clear spirit that looks like water. Our Williams, Obstler and Himbeergeist are some samples. Not to be mistaken with White Grappas or Bierschnaps / Hopster.
It is a European style of fruit brandy. Similar spiritsare produced in other countries e.g., German Schnaps – where you would get fruit-schnaps which is different to Bierschnaps. You have to make them separate based on the different mash types.
