Jean Daneel, also known as the Father of Chenin Blanc in South Africa, settled down in Napier in 2004 with his wife Renee. There they established a wine farm and boutique winery which is today headed by their son, Jean-Pierre, who is also the winemaker at Jean Daneel Wines.
The cold climate of the L’Agulhas coast, where the Indian and Atlantic Oceans meet, make for the ideal conditions to grow the best grapes used in their wines. Only wines grown on the family farm, Domain Daneel, are used in wines bearing the Jean Daneel name.
Our portfolio includes the Signature Chenin Blanc and Signature Red Blend.
